Home Game 1, 10-29-08
Nuggets @ Jazz
Jazz 98 - Nuggets 94

Tonight's game was great and I am glad I stayed the whole game. The lights out thing was awesome. I hope it doesn't get old and just "another thing they do during introductions." There was an exciting feeling in the air tonight. it just seemed like a great game. Maybe it was the lights out thing. Maybe it was the start of a new season. Who knows, but it was a great game.

I witnessed some hilarious Jazz rookie hazing as the players were coming out of the tunnel. I happened to be taking pictures right as it happened, so got a couple funny ones. Right as the team was running out, Koufos was in the lead. AK47 and company stopped at the end of the tunnel and started laughing. Koufos turned around and looked when he was already out there and realized the only one. He just laughed it off and started warming up as usual. See the pictures, they are pretty funny.

The lights went out after National Anthem and the Nuggets introductions. I'm glad I was there to witness that for the first time at Energy Solutions Arena. I still hate that name. The crowd went wild when the lights went off. Glow sticks were handed out at the door and everyone started waving them around. Intros with the lights off were pretty cool. Cooler than I thought they would be.

The game was competitive the whole way through. Neither team really had much of a lead at any point in the game. Price played great and I am very happy with how he played tonight. My favorite moment though; the 3rd quarter, AI defending Price when he gets absolutely steam rolled into the floor on a screen by Boozer. It was great. Nene didn't like it after the Nuggets had the ball back and drove in, getting called for an offensive foul. Good swing in the game.

There was some sort of medical emergency / evacuation in the 2nd quarter. I took a random picture of the arena and a few minutes later, there were a bunch of people standing by a person who was in one of the pictures. They ended up calling for medical help and the medical staff team evacuated the guy by carrying him down the stairs. He looked out cold. All in a matter of like 15 minutes; took the picture of the arena when he appears ok, then he is taken out appearing out of it. Crazy.

It was a close one tonight. I knew something was going to happen with that 8 point lead we had late in the game. Sure enough. At least we played well without Dwill and hung in for the W. Go Jazz! See you on Saturday night.

Enjoy the Jazzcrap..
