Jazz 98 - Rockets 85
131st Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

another good team effort and an exciting win tonight.. i would be oh so happy if the Jazz can just win the game on Monday, then come back for an exciting Game 6 next week.. come on Jazz, we have faith in you and if we could be there cheering for you, we would.. if you fly us there, we will come...

the rockets came on first to some boos, not quite as many as last game.. the jazz were on shortly after them to some louder cheers than the day before.. the announcer during the Rockets introductions could barely be heard through all the loud boos for Houston.. along with the usual, "Houston Sucks" chant again...

national anthem girl knew the words.. much, much, much better than the stupid guy from Air Supply.. don't ever come back Air Supply, at least until you study the words...

rockets won the tipoff and missed an early three, but then the Jazz missed their shot and Yao was at the line shorlty after.. it was good seeing the Refs call Tmac and Yao for 5 fouls each, with no Jazz player having more than 4.. AK was his usual new-self again.. he isn't playing with near the mindset that he used to, and while he looked a little better tonight, just looks like he doesn't belong.. he was pretty smooth on the D-end and played Tmac much better than Fish did.. i'm suprised Jerry doesn't put Fish on Yao..

halftime was BMX riders on some ramps.. i've seen the guys a few times at least.. they rode over Bear at one point, i took a picture of that.. Hafa came into the game in the 4th quarter to some cheers.. i can't remember who he replaced or if the cheers were for him or for who he was replacing..

a taco bell parachute drop got stuck up in some lights, and fell down a little while later late at halftime.. it landed on the seats right next to the row 4 season ticket holder girl who sits in front of me.. she didn't pick it up and some other people got it.. come on, pick it up next time.. (do you come to my website? email me.)

anyways.. enjoy the pics.. we'll for sure be back Thursday for a Game 6 - Win in Houston! Houston Sucks!

Jazz 81 - Rockets 67
130th Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

before i get started.. i was driving out by the airport today to take a picture of the airplanes that brought the teams in, and actually think I saw D-Will's Merc driving leaving the airport.. i couldn't get a really good look at the drive, but don't think it was D.. i passed him at first, then wanted him to pass me, but he was only driving like 50 on the freeway, and i don't have the power to do that.. see the pic of his car below, it's hosted at my website, slakis.com.

on with the game.. this game was exciting.. i don't know if i've ever been to a game this exciting.. the last playoffs game I went to was in 2003 vs the Kings.. i really don't think the crowd was in it as much, as everyone knew the Kings were a better team back then.. tonight was a completely different story..

the Rockets came onto the court first with some loud, loud boos by the fans.. they continued on for quite some time, at least 60 seconds or so.. you knew they could hear it.. we even started with the "Houston sucks" chant, before tipoff, and the crowd caught onto it.. it was pretty fun.. the Jazz came onto the court for warm ups and the crowd erupted into cheers...

introductions for the Rockets were just boos.. intros for the Jazz were exciting and the fireworks made it even more exciting.. the Jazz played well and as a team most of the game.. officiating was not as bad as it has been in the series.. there were definitely those plays when you just want to know what the refs were looking at.. things were all over the place tonight.. Memo was definitely getting a bit frustrated with Yao in the first half.. i would have been frustrated as well, considering what the Refs were giving him..

halftime was drummers from Chicago.. i've seen them numerous times, but still can't remember their name.. here is a funny story.. just before halftime, the people in the row in front of me got up to leave for a minute... they told me to watch their stuff, i said, "no, i will have to sell it for beer money." they laughed, took their stuff, and left.. a minute or so later, some punk kid came and sat down in them, thinking they were empty.. the people that were their left their cheering things (can't think of a name), and the guy was gonna take them, so i just mentioned to him the seats were taken and those belonged to somebody.. the guy got up and left.. a few minutes later, the people who sat there returned.. they looked on the ground, the retard had dropped his wallet and left it at the seats! it was so funny.. i took a picture of the wallet and was going to give it to the usher, but then noticed the kid sitting a few rows up, so i returned his wallet in it.. no cash in it, but definitely a funny story!

the crowd broke out into the "Houston Sucks" chant over and over again tonight.. it was fun to give it back to them, but i don't think anything makes up for them saying it about us when one of our players is down on the court.. i hate the stupid Rockets..

i thought Boozer did well, but there were at least a few possessions when i thought he should have taken it to the whole.. drive on Yao, get him in foul trouble.. he settled for outside jumpers too much, but still got the job done for the most part..

good game by the Jazz and I hope they can bring their energy on Saturday for the next game.. BEAT HOUSTON!!

Jazz 101 - Rockets 91
123th Straight Regular Season Jazz Home Game
129th Straight Jazz Home Game w/ Preseason

i hope the 2nd half of tonight's game was a taste of the way our team will be playing come playoffs time, but we'll have to see.. the Jazz got off to another slow start and the fans didn't like it, booing the team pretty loudly to start their first timeout.. they picked it up in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters and won the game, but it doesn't really mean much as Tmac and Yao were out.. i'm looking forward to the playoffs.. i'll have some good pictures!

tonight's game marked my 3rd straight full season of going to every home Jazz game.. preseason included.. the last game I missed was against the Rockets, to end the 03-04 season.. i've been to every home game since then.. i've taken my camera to every game except for 1 (houston, in nov-04).. i've taken probably 10,000 pictures through the 3 seasons.. so many.. this year was a lag compared to each of the last two, i was on the ball back then.. i hope to keep my streak going next season, but only time will tell..

beat the stupid Rockets in the Playoffs! enjoy the Jazzcrap...

Jazz 130 - Blazers 93
122th Straight Regular Season Jazz Home Game
128th Straight Jazz Home Game w/ Preseason

i'm happy the Jazz won the game tonight, but it was kind of a useless win once i found out Houston won. come on Phoenix, you hit so many three's on us, you can't hit one to save us? i know it was Amare, but come on? it was good for us to win to build team chemistry back, as AK and Giricek both returned...

i won lower bowl tickets from Verizon Wireless so i sat in Section 17 row 27.. right next to the TV cameras.. we had dinner passes too, so ate some food and took advantage of the two-free-beers-per-person rule.. the food was ok.. the seats were pretty nice too..

halftime was a wiener dog race.. big deal..

i am bummed about Houston.. oh well. hopefully we can beat Houston on Wednesday to give us an edge coming into the playoffs.. let's go Jazz!

Suns 126 - Jazz 98
121th Straight Regular Season Jazz Home Game
127th Straight Jazz Home Game w/ Preseason

once we started the game down 13-1, i knew it was going to be a long long night.. lots and lots of boos in the 1st quarter, just like last game against Denver.. i don't really have much to say about tonight's game.. us having home court is in Houston's hands now.. i am rooting for the Suns next week..

the announcer was back after missing two games.. his replacement sucks.. no lights caught on fire or started smoking tonight.. nothing really exciting non-gamewise happened.. i took some good random fan section photos..

for Monday's game, i have lower bowl tickets on row 27 that I won.. we'll see how the game will be down there.. see you Monday..

nice Jazz.. nice..

Nuggets @ Jazz
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007
Nuggets 115 - Jazz 106
120th Straight Regular Season Jazz Home Game
126th Straight Jazz Home Game w/ Preseason

this game started out the same way the last game ended.. with a bunch of booing.. it ended and there should have been more booing, but the crowd held back a bit this game.. maybe it was because most had already left..

i got to the game pretty early today, about an hour or so.. giveaway was State Farm LED fans that light up and say things like "Statefarm", "Like a good neighbor" and "Go Jazz".. our normal usher was gone and we had a replacement usher.. he was better than the last replacement usher (or maybe two replacement ushers ago)...

denver had the first half owned.. they were up for a majority of it, and pretty much put a stop to any Jazz runs with an open basket, three or a fastbreak.. they were playing well in the first half, and knowing our recent record in jersey nights, i wasn't looking forward to the 2nd..

halftime was Adrian Dantley's jersey retirement.. not as many photographers on the floor as for Stockton and Malones, but quite a few.. his family and friends came out first.. followed by old coaches, and then former teammates.. no Malone tonight, but Stockton was there and was given a pretty good ovation when he was introduced.. the crowd held back a bit, knowing that it was Dantley's night..

a few people talked, his old coaches, the former Jazz owner, Larry Miller, Stockton.. the crowd cheered as Stockton came to give his speech again, it's always fun seeing Stockton.. i wish Malone would have been there..

Dantley talked for quite a while.. he was pretty funny.. he said Melo and Iverson gave him a hard time, saying he must not have been very good since his jersey wasn't up there.. he was happy it finally was.. he said some day he hopes to coach the Jazz, after Jerry and Phil step down.. that would be a welcome change i think.. his jersey was unveiled with a countdown, and the normal song played at these things, "simply the best". that one should have been Stockton's song..

around the start of the 3rd quarter, everyone was looking up and pointing.. so, i looked up to see what it was.. i saw smoke coming from a light.. more and more smoke started coming from it.. i we can't see to the stop of the raftors from where we sit, but someone was there and disconnected the light, then took it off.. it stunk for the rest of the night.. it was pretty funny..

the nuggets played well in the 2nd half also.. the Jazz cut their lead to just 3, but couldn't stop Denver and they pulled off the win.. stupid Jazz.. get things together come playoffs time at least..

see you Saturday against Phoenix.. (beat Dallas on Friday)

Sonics @ Jazz
Saturday, April 7th, 2007
Sonics 106 - Jazz 103
119th Straight Regular Season Jazz Home Game
125th Straight Jazz Home Game w/ Preseason

i have to admit i'm pretty disappointed in the team after these couple games.. tonight was even worse than last night.. 20 points entering the 4th quarter.. you'd think a playoff calibur team wouldn't let that happen.. i hope we can hold our lead against Houston, but the last few games and playoffs will be pretty interesting..

before tonight's game the division championship banner was unveiled, just before jazz intros..

you really can't blame a coach entirely for a loss, but i do think brewer should have had more minutes late in the game.. he was defending well, putting back boards, and making shots for us and i don't know why sloan didn't give him more time.. it was good seeing him start, but Sloan was his usual self tonight.. looking at Brewer's line, wow.. i can't believe Sloan tonight..

halftime was the chinese unicycle dish tossing lady.. i've seen her many times, but tonight she missed on the big one and had to re-do it. i've got videos of her on youtube, check the main page for a link... anyways.. i don't think i could throw a bowl onto my head, let alone do it on a unicycle, throwing the bowls from my leg.. crazy chinese..

the first quarter was ok, though we were down.. the second quarter was better, along with the third.. the fourth quarter sucked, period..
