Thanks for the great season Jazz.

While on one hand I want to be frustrated with losing to the Spurs, nobody (including myself) thought the Jazz would make it as far as we did. I feel like we could have done better against the Spurs had more of our team's pieces picked up their game in the postseason. The Spurs are a better team with more playoff experience, but we have what it takes to put up a fight against them. The Spurs knew of our weaknesses and exploited them in the last game. Williams being not 100% let Tony Parker drive right at him, and I believe that's what killed us in Game 5.

As far as Game 4 goes, I feel like we got totally shafted by Steve Javie. Spurs fans bring up the "the Spurs were driving inside and deserved to go to the line" thing, but some of the fouls called were absolutely ridiculous. The refs kept their whistles in their mouths on one end of the court, and kept them in their pocket on the other (25 free throws to our 2).

Anyways. Enough of talking about the sad ending. We had a great run and will be a team to compete with for teams to come. There is nobody on the team that I feel like we need to get rid of, but we need to do what it takes to get a solid 2 guard. The hole at that spot in the roster let other teams exploit us there. Let's make a trade and get someone in who can handle the job for us.

I'm not sure if I'll be back next year. I said that last season too, but who knows. This season was probably one of my funnest, even though I sat about 7 rows up from where I did the last 2 seasons.

I'll put together a "Best of the 2006-07 Season" photo gallery with some good pictures and I'll let you all know when that's up.

Spurs @ Jazz

Spurs 91 - Jazz 79
137th Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

the Jazz had a chance to win this game starting the 4th quarter down by just one point.. thing turned that quarter when the refs took over the game.. the Spurs had a 25-2 free throw advantage in the 4th quarter.. that is absolutely ridiculous.. Jerry was thrown venting his frustration with the refs, but that made no difference and the free throws continued.. it's just so frustrating.. the Spurs are a better team, but when the refs are on their side, we stand absolutely no chance whatsoever..

hopefully this won't be the last game of the season, but if things go in San Antonio the way they have the last 7 year, we'll see you next year.. Jazz need to play well and hopefully the refs won't suck as bad..

let's see.. what else is there to talk about..

during the Jazz introductions, an errant firework went flying down into the crowd from above.. it was crazy, and i had a picture right as the firework was on it's way down.. a few ushers and some security went to check, but i guess the people were fine..

i really, really, really hate thunderstix/bam bams.. yeah, they're fun and make a lot of noise, but they really make taking pictures hard.. i had to stand up if i wanted any decent pictures, and it still sucked because people hold them above their head.. lame..

though i do not condone this type of action, because of the frustration over the officials, someone a few sections to my left in the upper bowl threw a cup down near the court.. it went flying and made it all the way down to the first row of the lower bowl.. everyone started looking up over in that direction, and they think the got who threw it.. i took a picture of him on the way out as he was being held by security.. spurs fans are funny.. i checked a Spurs message board tonight when i got home and that seems to be the highlight of their topics.. "utah fans are so lame, throwing things at players".. come on, it's not everyone.. i agree with you, people who throw things at players are lame, but don't think it's the whole damn state..

congratulations Spurs.. with the refs on your side like they were tonight, you'll win the next 5 championships.. refs suck.. i don't have much more to say.. enjoy the pics..

Spurs @ Jazz
Saturday, May 26th, 2007
Jazz 109 - Spurs 83
136th Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

the Jazz knew we needed this one so played as a team and pulled out the win.. the first half was back and forth, Spurs up most of it but the Jazz keeping up with them for the most part.. we opened it up in the 3rd quarter and they never made it close again.. way to go Jazz.. play the same way on Monday..

though i do think the Jazz played well and were the main reason for the win, the refs helped us out quite a bit tonight.. Duncan leaving in the 1st quarter with 2 fouls.. leaving in the 2nd with 3 fouls.. leaving in the 3rd with 4 fouls.. it just seemed to be going our way.. Parker wasn't far behind, but really wasn't in too big of foul trouble.. i think we definitely deserved it after some of the bogus calls refs have been making in the previous two series..

they gave away shirts to everyone tonight.. they were similar to the shirts from the last game (which only lower bowl got), but had the phrase "True Blue" written on it.. i think it could have had a better catch phrase.. desperate housewife eva longoria was in town and at the game.. i didn't realize it was her until after the game when i looked at the picture close.. she had her own personal usher..

happy birthday Memo.. we'll see you on Monday night for Game 4..

Warriors @ Jazz
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007
Jazz 100 - Warriors 87
135th Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

way to go Jazz! you've done us all well advancing farther than just about everyone thought you would at the beginning of the year.. through horrible officiating and rough times late in the year, you've done well, and i tip my glass to each one of you... (except Collins)..

the Jazz fought off the Refs first of all, and the Warriors 2nd.. the refs wanted us to lose tonight and did all they can to help the Warriors, but the Jazz fought through the horrible officiating.. every game seems like it gets worse, i hope none are ever like this one was..

the arena was awesome tonight.. fans were louder than ever.. the excitement in the air was incredible.. i happened to snap a picture right as the fireworks were going off, turned out well.... just a few points to make.. i'm tired and have to be to work in about 6 hours..

-- the Warriors are a bunch of whiners.. quit whining and play the game, damn..

-- Baron Davis elbows are dirty dirty dirty.. he's a nasty player and i don't know why Fisher is still on good terms with him..

-- Stephen Jackson has all the free time in the world this summer to settle his court case..

-- Davis and Jackson should have been ejected.. i don't know how they stayed at the game, especially Jackson yelling at the ref in the 3rd quarter.. i guess i don't know what was said, but come on Refs.. you wouldn't stop blowing your whistle at the beginning of the year! Barnes should have been thrown out much sooner..

again.. way to go Jazz. great series by the Warriors, but in the end, the Jazz take it.. bring on the Suns/Spurs!

a kid dropped his hot dog, spilling some mustard.. i told the usher, he didn't want to clean it up.. i then fashioned a sort of caution sign out of a season ticket holder junk mail left at the seat.. the usher came to clean it soon after, people laughed

the arena was ELECTRIC tonight, i caught this photo right as the fireworks went off

Warriors @ Jazz
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007
Jazz 127 - Warriors 117 (OT)
134th Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

Derek Fisher saved the game for the Jazz tonight. The struggle started early with D-Will getting called for 2 fouls in the first 60 seconds of gametime. Later in the first quarter, Dee Brown went down and left the game to head to the hospital. It didn't look good for us. In the 3rd quarter, Williams was hit with his 4th personal foul, and it seemed like the night wasn't going to go our way. Just then, I looked towards the tunnel near the Jazz bench, and out came Derek Fisher. What an ovation Fisher got! There hasn't been such a loud ovation for a player since the retirement of Malone's jersey. Fisher deserved it. He kept the energy up, and then put it all away with a late 3 in overtime to put us up by 6. Derek Fisher, I Love You.

The crowd was great again tonight. I guess that's expected now since it's the playoffs. I would have to say the second half and overtime of tonight's game was the loudest of the playoffs yet.

The lower bowl fans were all given blue shirts that were left on their chairs before the game. It was pretty cool, but quite a few fans didn't even bother to put them on. Before tipoff, cameras were showing people on the superscreen with a message saying to put it on, and the camera stayed there until they did. It was pretty funny.

Officiating was horrible both ways. I can't say that only we got screwed on some bad calls, because Golden State got kicked in the nads on some of them too. What is it with the refs these days? It seems like every game all we talk about it horrible officiating all around the board. At the start of the 4th quarter, they said they wanted everyone to stand the entire 4th quarter. I did just that and was on my feet for all of the 4th plus the overtime session. It was cool, quite a few other people were too but a lot sat down. Fun stuff.

I don't really have much else to say about tonights game. It's good to see all the coverage for Fish on different sites. Well deserved. I couldn't ask for a better person to come in and give us a lift. You deserved it Fish!

Jazz head to Oakland for Games 3 and 4 up 2-0! Come on Jazz! Take one of the games, and we will make sure you win Game 5 back here in SLC. Thank you Jazz! Enjoy the Jazzcrap..

Warriors @ Jazz
Monday, May 7th, 2007
Jazz 116 - Warriors 112
133rd Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

so, i was thinking on my way home tonight about all the visiting team's fans saying there is nothing to do in Salt Lake.. i thought of something that never gets old.. watching the Jazz beat down on your crappy city's basketball team!

tonight's game was pretty exciting.. the Jazz were given a pretty loud ovation, though the boos against the warriors were not near as what they were against the rockets.. the jazz jumped to an early 10 point lead, but Golden State quickly got the game close again with a barrage of three pointers.. man, they are a great three point shooting team..

i thought we turned the ball over way too many times tonight trying to get it inside when there were just too many defenders nearby.. we can't do that against the Warriors with how fast they are.. i hope we can get a handle on that for Wednesday night's game.. and let's get some guys defending the three point line.. i guess it's been like that all season, so no surprise now.. at least we won..

memo was hot early from downtown getting the crowd into the game early.. he cooled off a bit, but made the ones that counted for us.. no fisher tonight... i read he's out with some family issues he'll be attending to.. Collins and Hafa got zero minutes, but it was good to see Brewer get in for a few.. i like that kid..

the Jazz kept it close and ended up pulling out the win in the 4th quarter, starting it down by 5 points.. great team play in the end give us a 1-0 series lead.. as they say, a series doesn't start until a team wins on the road.. we've got some important games coming up..

it's late and i'm tired so i'm going to keep this recap short.. see you on Wednesday night for Game 2..

Rockets @ Jazz
Thursday, May 3rd, 2007
Jazz 94 - Rockets 82
132nd Straight Jazz Home Game
(Preseason, Regular Season and Playoffs)

good energy by the crowd and a great team effort brought us the W tonight.. the crowd was loud and energized in the 2nd half and kept the Jazz playing well.. some calls went our way, some were bogus and I coulnd't believe.. (like in the 2nd quarter, an offensive foul on Millsap, you know what i am talking about).

it's been a long season so far.. all i can ask for is one more win by the team.. please Jazz, i need you to win Game 7 on Saturday so we can all come back for one more round.. it's going to be against the Warriors, so it's anyone's series.. please Jazz.. i need you.. i'd be there if i could, but i'll definately be there in spirit..

enjoy the pics.. Houston Sucks! i'll post again after Saturday.. (and Happy Birthday to my Dad.. today was his Birthday..)
